The KNAUS Campingpark Leipzig / Auensee is located in the middle of the green and idyllic oasis of the Leipzig floodplain forest and of approx. 9 ha size. It is the ideal starting point for your extensive sightseeing tours, excursions and rambles through the varied nightlife.
Haus Auensee, which has developed over the last 25 years into a major player in the national and international concert business, is only a 2-minute walk from the camping park.
Enjoy your stay protected from the hustle and bustle of the city in a rustically furnished holiday home, our comfortably furnished and fully equipped mobile homes - each with its own sanitary area - or in one of the romantic Finnish huts. The sights and attractions of Leipzig are right on our doorstep and can be easily and quickly reached by public transport directly from the camping park.
In addition to the spacious children's playground, the camping park also has a modern multi-purpose sports field where you can play football, volleyball, handball, basketball and tennis. The lake Auensee is in only 150m distance from the reception and invites you to go boating, fishing and on a relaxing walk along the lakeside. Bathing is not possible.

Start your discovery tour and visit the numerous historical buildings such as the Nikolai and Thomas Churches, the venerable Renaissance town hall on the market square or the Mädler-Passage, a passage steeped in history.
Modern art and architecture can also be admired here in various forms: the Gewandhaus, the seat of the orchestra rich in tradition, the ensemble of the City high-rise with panorama terrace and the modern university buildings on Augustusplatz, the new building of the Museum of Fine Arts, the Kunstkraftwerk Leipzig and the GRASSI Museum of Applied Arts are just some of the highlights for culture lovers.
The heart of the city beats in the wonderfully restored city centre with its trade fair palaces and arcades. Shops, restaurants and cafés in the city centre, invite you to stroll, rummage and linger. You should also visit the Gast- und Brauhaus at the Bayerischer Bahnhof and try the brewed speciality of the house, the Leipziger Gose.
There are numerous parks in the city, such as the picturesque Johannapark, which invite you to linger or take a stroll. The many bathing lakes south of Leipzig are easy to reach by bike or public transport. Lake Cospuden, with its numerous bays, spacious sunbathing lawns and varied sports facilities, is a popular summer meeting place, especially for young people.
Somewhat outside the city centre you can visit the famous Battle of the Nations Monument) with its impressive viewing platform. The ascent over the 364 steps is definitely worthwhile and will be rewarded at the end with a magnificent view over the city. Don't miss the attached museum FORUM 1813 - there is history to touch.
Families with children should not miss a trip to Leipzig Zoo. The six different nature-orientated adventure worlds are unique in Europe and inspire young and old alike.
