Knaus Campingpark Haren is idyllically situated in the green countryside of the historic shipping town of Haren (Ems). The park's own natural lake is a wonderful place to relax and go fishing. Explore the cross-border Moor-Veenland and discover the unique flora and fauna in the Bourtanger Moor Nature Park World Heritage Site. What was once the largest contiguous raised bog in Europe still delights visitors today with extraordinary landscapes that stretch to the horizon and beyond. To round off your excursion, don't miss Bourtange Fortress. The lovingly restored fortress town is now an open-air museum in a class of its own and shows everyday life in 1742, with numerous actors in historical uniforms practising old crafts or faithfully re-enacting changes of guard and battles.
Technology fans should not miss the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg. In the visitor centre of one of the world's most modern shipyards, you can book various tours or explore the site on your own and follow the journey from steel plate to finished cruise liner.
