The KNAUS Campingpark Eckwarderhörne, also called "Cape Horn", lies between two dikes embedded directly at the "Niedersächsisches Wattenmeer" and does not allow guests to be bored.
The Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2010 and, with its impressive play of tides, is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday close to nature.
It is one of the last unspoilt natural landscapes in Europe, where you can experience the power of wind and water at first hand. You too can go exploring and take one of the guided mudflat walks. Watch the tide come in and marvel at the unique flora and fauna of the Wadden Sea.
The adventure trails offer the walkers peace and relaxation. Very friendly with children, the front beach section with its playgrounds and animation programs invite you to spend a great family vacation. The beach of Eckwarderhörne is an insider hint for bathers and surfers.
Wading tours with local and expert wattlers can be booked daily as well as day trips by ship to the seal banks, lighthouses, Wilhelmshaven or from there to Helgoland. In addition, there is the possibility of transferring the passenger bicycle ferry directly from Eckwarderhörne to Helgolandkai / Wilhelmshaven.
Nearby is also the seaside town Bremerhaven at the entrance to the North Sea. This offers you attractions and maritime experiences of all kinds. A trip with the Double decker harbour bus over Europe's largest hub of container and car transhipment, a guided tour of the world-famous Lloyd shipyard, a beach in the heart of the city, the German emigration house and other extraordinary highlights await you.
A further highlight for nature lovers is the Langwarder Groden between Fedderwardersiel and Langwarden. Here is one of the best places for bird watching in Butjadingen.
Since 2015 a 4 km long circular path and a 2 km long nature discovery trail offer a special experience. The nature`s spectacular adventure can be watched by several observation points, footbridges and a bridge leading to the foredeck. On numerous info panels you will learn more about nature and landscape.
